This cover art is for a single released by Spare the Dead called “Breaking Chains”. The band provided the subject matter of an axe breaking through chains, symbolic for breaking out of a damaging mental state. I decided to try out a partially physical piece utilizing cut paper and then scanned into photoshop. I think it adds a bit of dimension to the piece.
